USHL Clark Cup Playoffs: Muskegon's Vaclav Nestrasil Among Standouts On Tuesday
Vaclav Nestrasil scored a goal and registered an assist in Muskegon's Game 3 win on Tuesday. Who else stood out?
Looking at several standouts and top performers from Tuesday’s lone Clark Cup Playoff game.
Vaclav Nestrasil (Muskegon)
Nestrasil was an integral factor in Muskegon’s clean sweep over Dubuque in the Eastern Conference Final. The UMass commit extended his point streak to three games with a goal and an assist on Tuesday. Nestrasil opened the scoring in the first period on a wrister from the left dot. He picked up a primary helper on Tynan Lawrence’s empty-net goal to punch Muskegon’s ticket to the Clark Cup Final.
Lucas Van Vliet (Dubuque)
Van Vliet capped off an incredible season with a goal and five shots on goal. The Vegas Golden Knights draft pick showed good patience picking his shot in the second period and found the back of the net. Van Vliet had 10 points (4-6-10) in seven playoff games after recording 49 points during the regular season.
Tynan Lawrence (Muskegon)
Lawrence has established himself as a top prospect for the 2026 NHL Draft, especially after putting up some big numbers in this postseason. The BU commit has 13 points in nine postseason games and always seems to show up in big moments. Lawrence potted the empty-net goal to give Muskegon some breathing room. He has registered at least three shots on goal in all but one game in this playoff run,
Matthew Van Blaricom (Muskegon)
Van Blaricom picked a good time for his first postseason goal. The Michigan Tech commit ripped a shot on goal from the right-wing circle following a Dubuque turnover in the neutral zone. Van Blaricom finished with a postseason-best three shots on goal on a fourth line that I thought played really well on Tuesday night.
Gavin Cornforth (Dubuque)
Cornforth finishes his time in Dubuque with 107 points in 196 USHL games, which includes three playoff runs. The Boston College commit picked up an assist on Van Vliet’s second-period goal and registered four shots on goal.
Shikhabutdin Gadzhiev (Muskegon)
Gadzhiev has proven steady time and again and Tuesday was no different. The Miami commit turned aside 30-of-31, including all 21 between the first and third periods.
